To paraphrase the words of MLK the life of those in urban communities are still sadly crippled by separation and discrimination.
-there are Urban communities that are stricken by lack in the midst vast material prosperity.
-there are Urban communities that still languish in the corners of American society and find themselves in exile from better lives.
When the architects of our republic wrote the words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall under saying that all men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is obvious that America has looked differently upon people different color and classes. We must consider the meaning of the presidential election of Donald Trump. We must expect that America will give us upon demand the riches of freedom, justice, and equality.
Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy
It’s time to rise from discrimination to equality. Now is the time to lift ourselves out of discrimination the rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make equality a reality for all of God’s children.
Discontent will not pass until there is true freedom and equality. Problems will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until true equality emerges.
In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. We must forever conduct our struggle with dignity and discipline. We must rise to the new heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The police militancy which saturates the Urban communities must not lead us to a distrust of all police, for many have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny.
With this it’s not time to be satisfied.
-We can never be satisfied as long as there are still victims of the unspeakable of police brutality.
-We cannot be satisfied as long as the under classes basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one.
-We cannot be satisfied until instead there is the building an infrastructure that educates and promotes growth
The system we live in promotes lack, separation, and destruction in urban communities. It’s up to us to strengthen each other. We vow to promote unity and union in the urban community.We are inspired to move with purpose and help to brand and market those rising above the system and creating there own way. We have strength in numbers and we have all had our share of great trials and tribulations. Some have come out of jail cells. Some have come from areas where their quest for freedom left them beat by persecution and police brutality. Times may have been tough but continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. To the slums and ghettos of our cities, know that somehow this situation will change. -We have a dream deeply rooted in the American dream that one day all my people will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal.”
-We have a dream that one day people from all ethnic backgrounds will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
-We have a dream that one day even the state of Massachusetts, a state with the plenty of injustice, plenty of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of true freedom and equality.
-We have a dream that one day we live in a nation where people will not be judged thier neighborhood but by the content of their character.
-We have a dream that one day we will be able to join hands with all races as sisters and brothers.
-We have a dream that one day the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
In this we must have faith.
-With this faith we will be able to make out of despair hope.
-With this faith we will be able to transform systematic seperation into sameness and brotherhood.
-With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for true freedom together, knowing that we will be truly free one day.
When this happens in every state and every city, we will see a day when all of God’s children will be able to join hands and say “Thank God Almighty, we are truly free at last!”
